About us
Jungle Road first came to life in 2014, when teenage friends Diego Caballero (guitarist and vocalist) and Andrés Salazar (guitar, bass, and vocals) decided to create their own LP, primarily based on a series of riffs they had developed, inspired by the effects of Dub and the heavy rhythms of classic Rock. However, due to living in different locations for several years, the project was continuously postponed until 2020.
With the onset of the global pandemic, both founders found themselves permanently residing in La Serena (the hometown of both) and decided to invite Nicolás Lazo (Guitar/Effects and Diego’s childhood friend) to join the project, leading to the creation of the band’s first tracks. By the end of 2020, the band took the initiative to share some of the material they had created, releasing their first demos, “Asymmetrical Echoes” and “Science of Ignorance,” on YouTube.
In 2021, the band began working on their debut self-titled album, “Jungle Road,” crafting demos of their acoustic songs “Pierced in my Soul” and “Pain Relief,” both of which were also released on YouTube.
Following the addition of drummer Eduardo “Lalo” Green in mid-2021, the band performed their first live show at Feria Pilchas in June 2022, showcasing new material from the album alongside covers by artists who had inspired them.
After this performance, the band released the first single from their album, “Asymmetrical Echoes,” for the first time on streaming platforms. This new version featured remixing and remastering of the original demo, along with new arrangements and tones. Andrés and Lalo’s extended travels outside of Chile in the latter half of 2022 led the band to go on hiatus for several months. Consequently, at the beginning of 2023, the band stepped away from the stage to focus on quietly finishing writing what would become their first album, “Jungle Road.”
After months of hard work, recording, editing, and mixing, the band completed their album in September 2023, releasing it on October 15th of the same year. They subsequently played a series of shows between October ’23 and February ’24 to present their new material.
